Behavioral Consulting Intern

You are working as a behavioral consulting intern. Your company is taking on a new client, Shoreside Community-Based Residential Facility. Shoreside would like your company to provide consultation in their unit for adults with traumatic brain injury.

Shoreside management and staff have expressed a concern over increasing rates of disruptive behavior during community outings and have had little success with their current interventions. They believe they may need assistance with staff training and behavior modification techniques.

The company has had limited experience with applying ABA on an organizational level and the Director recently found information related to the Program Planning and Evaluation process. The Director of Shoreside believes this would be an effective way to address the problems within the organization.

Shoreside management is anxious to make changes in the organization, but members of management and staff are not clear on the program planning and evaluation process and do not understand why all the steps are necessary.

Your manager has asked you to make a presentation to management and staff to provide more information about the important steps of the program planning and evaluation process. Shoreside is looking for a “quick fix” so management and staff may need to be “sold” on the importance of each step in the process.

Using what you have learned about the steps of the program design and evaluation process in class and from your Unit 1 reading, you must create a PowerPoint presentation (minimum of 12 slides) consisting of the following:

Define each of the 6 important steps of the program design and evaluation process: Problem Analysis Needs Assessment Developing Strategies and Objective Program Design Performance Measurement and Monitoring Program Evaluation Explain the purpose of each step in this process. Discuss the importance of each step to the development of effective behavior management programs. Remember that your goal for this project is to provide an overview of the program design and evaluation process. You should not create a solution for the given scenario. You should provide a beginning explanation of the process that highlights the purpose and importance of this process.

Your presentation must also include a title slide at the beginning and a slide at the end with APA formatted references for the academic sources you used in creating your presentation.

Your PowerPoint should be a minimum of 12 slides in length, not including title slides and references, include proper APA formatting (including properly formatted headings for each section of your plan), and include at least 2 academic references (including your course text)
