Part I: Describe the qualities of life in America that TWO of our authors this week were criticizing. Do these criticisms seem valid to make of today's America?

Part II:  Try a gendered/ feminist reading of 2 readings not mentioned in your Part 1 response. Describe what the writers seem to be saying about masculinity and/or femininity. Are these stereotypes/expectations still present in contemporary life?

Write four to five pages (4-5) paper (1,000-1,250 words) that responds to each of the items described in the topic below: 

Women’s Roles Then & Now Script a conversation between two (2) notable women from the 18th and or 19th century on the roles women should play in society. Within the dialogue, include:  

· Biographical information for each woman. 

· The historical status for women in general during the time period in which each woman lived.

Now, though, for Project 3, you may choose your own role: will you be a government office? Will you be a non-profit organization? Will you be a public institution like a library or a museum? Will you be an office, like the campus Health Center? Will you be a different magazine? Will you have a private office, like a doctor or dentist or psychologist? Will you give a talk at a library? Will you own shop? Choose a role that suits the information you’ve gathered for Project 2 (Attached below)and use that information to make a fact sheet for your new role. 

American Literature essay

Your essays should be in MLA Style and approximately 950-1,200 words, not including the Work(s) Cited page. Include two separate direct quotes or lines from your literary selection in order to better illustrate and support your argument, along with citations and a list of works cited. As with most academic writing, this essay should be written in third person. Please avoid both first person (I, we, our, etc.) and second person (you, your). 

For your final essay, you should choose one of the following options:
