WeeK2 ASSIGNMENT Critical Thinking

Introduction

A the start of the program I did not think that it was necessary for us to be focused on critical

thinking just so long as we understood the lessons and could write the assignments set. It is only

after studying that I understood that to be able to critically assess the situation or to be able to

understand the requirements to take a decision — critical thinking was important and it was far

more important than having full knowledge of an issue.

Critical thinking I have learnt from the course is one of the aspects that helps an individual to defy

the accepted way of doing things and to do it differently in order to resolve issues and to create a

smooth work flow pattern that is efficient and yet of a high quality. Critical thinking is need for

not only taking decisions but also to develop a sense of a balance and judgment which is not one

of the easiest skills that a professional ahs. It is easy to be influenced by others around, and thinking

that what they say and do is the best way of doing things. A critical analysis shows that there could

be another side to a coin which also must be taken into account if the professional is to develop

further as an individual and a professional.(Scriver,2016)

What I found challenging in the course is the level of competence that was expected of me and

this forced me to take an advanced look at all topics something that I had not done earlier. I had to

constantly remind myself that critical thinking is about knowing the subject simply to be able to

define the core concepts of any subject. For me this was challenging as I had to train myself to do

it with every assignment.

Compared to this course my previous learning experiences were simpler and easier and today it

appears that they were experiences that were elementary experiences. It is only after this course

which has been a tough course to complete so far, I realize the standards that will be needed for

my higher education in college and my learning for my profession. If I can maintain what has been

taught in this course I feel confident of being able to cope with the tough subjects that I will need

to take and yet complete all my assignments with a full understanding of the subject that I take.

The level of mu school learning style was simple and easy instruction but I understand what there

al world instruction is going to be about after taking this course.(Boundless,2016)

The course outcomes apply to my experiences because I have to research and analysis on the topics

that I will be studying in my academic career in higher education. It requires that the question

should be asked it requires that that I should be curious and it requires that I should have the

courage and the confidence to move from the set parameters to the unknown which I have been

trying to do within the set patterns and failing to arrive at quality results. The moment I completed

the critical part of the course, I used it to my studies and found that what I wrote although

diffidently was accurate and slowly I realizedthat it is the core of all successful decisions and

judgements and is of the utmost importance to be successful in life personally and

professionally. One can be successful in learning and get high grades in all subjects but if

the learning cannot be applied to the personal and the professional spheres then an individual

cannot succeed in life professionally or personally. Knowledge is data bank that pays

dividends when its application is also correct.

Conclusion

I can conclude that this part of the course critical thinking is the part that has changed my

outlook to academics, to life and to how I am going to sue it in my professional arena sothat

every competitive fight I can win because I thought critically and I took my decisions based

on the outcomes of my critical thinking.
